Insect Screens

Allied Window’s screens are of exceptionally high quality and strength of construction. All frames are of extruded aluminum, with heavy solid extruded corner keys. Very large screens can be provided, without the need for a brace bar. A complete variety of screen wire materials is available, including charcoal aluminum (which is the standard wire), black aluminum, bright aluminum, bronze, stainless steel, and charcoal fiberglas wire. Fiberglas and aluminum “sunshade” materials are also an option. Springs, handles, spring-bolts, tracks, and other hardware are available to adapt to field conditions. Screen wire is held in place by a large diameter re-usable tubular vinyl spline. Spline color choices are white, black, beige, light gray and medium gray. Custom shapes and custom colors are popular screen options.

Primary Uses: The standard screen for all of our storm window products is an S-102 screen, with stainless steel handles. For existing wood or steel double-hungs, typical units are; lift out screens, sliding screens, and full screens. For steel or aluminum casement windows; clip-on, sliding or wicket screens are normally used. Some interior or exterior screens for steel or aluminum windows may require an angle build-out frame. Plain screen panels are ideal for large un-divided areas such as screened porches.

The S-101 screen has the same basic construction as the S-102 screen, but is only 5/16” thick. This makes the S-101 screen a high quality replacement screen for the flimsy screens originally provided with aluminum windows for homes and apartments.
