Stained Glass Protection
 Between
the destructive forces of nature and the destructive forces
of man, there is a current focus on security and protection
for office buildings, government buildings, schools and residences,
Windows, quite obviously, are particularly vulnerable to these
forces. Allied Window can provide a variety of glazing and
product options to increase the level of protection for the
window itself, the people and materials inside the building.
» SASH PROTECTION
The mere presence of an exterior storm window provides
added life to existing sash, the paint finish and historic glass.
» GLASS PROTECTION
Protection from windstorms or vandalism is typically
provided by our Allied One Lite (AOL), or plain D42 panels glazed
with:
- Tempered glass
- Laminated glass
- Polycarbonate (Lexan, Tuffak, or equal)
- Protective window film on
glass
NOTE: Proper venting is required for storm windows that protect stained
glass, in order to prevent heat damage to the stained glass.
» UV PROTECTION
Concern for the damaging effects of UV light can be addressed
by a variety of solutions:
- Laminated glass
- UV resistant acrylic (UF-3 Plexiglas, OP-2 Acrylite
or equal)
- Polycarbonate (Lexan, Tuffak, or equal)
- Window film

There is an increasing focus on the need to protect building
occupants from the danger of flying glass and other debris caused
by windstorms, earthquakes, terrorist acts, vandalism and accidents.
We have designed the new Protective Allied One Lite (PAOL) and the
new Protective Magnetic One Lite (PMOL) to provide superior performance
in the face of any of these unfortunate events. The (PAOL), the (PMOL)
and other Allied Window products can be provided with:
- Polycarbonate (Lexan, Tuffak or equal)
- Laminated glass
- Magnum Safety and Security Film
